Managing Quantity Surveyor

An opportunity has been created for Managing Quantity Surveyor to join the senior Management team of a Tier 1 Civil Engineering Main Contractor.
On offer is the opportunity to join a c.£150m infrastructure project to support a new housing development with London. The project would oversee the build of new roads, bridges, cycle lanes and parkland, as well as the water, gas and communications networks required to deliver the housing development.
The overall purpose of the role is to lead the Commercial Division for the company covering projects in excess of 90M under NEC4 Option a contract.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Procurement – confident preparing and issuing ITT documentation to subcontractors
- Producing documentation to a high standard- demonstrable evidence
- Carrying out the necessary work, including liaison with the other project disciplines to eliminate scope gaps from the procurement process
- Reviewing tenders, and analysing returns against the cost plan and other tenderers
- Challenging tender returns if non compliant
- Adherence to company and project processes and procedures
- Production of tender evaluation and recommendation reports
Professional qualifications required:
- Minimum 10 years demonstratable experience working for a Civil Engineering Main Contractor
- Affiliated to a Professional Institution such as the RICS, ICES, ICE Educated to Degree level in a relevant Commercial, Construction or Project Management qualification
- Comprehensive experience operating successfully in the Civil Engineering Contracting sector
- Demonstrate a successful track record of managing a large commercial team, responsible for major projects and or a portfolio of projects.
As an organisation they currently work on a number of projects spanning across Highways, Rail, Tunnelling and Civils across the UK
