Are you an experienced contracts manager or project manager, looking for a unique role with a hugely successful local business in Bristol?
We are working with an independent temporary works specialist, helping them in their search for an experienced and proactive contracts manager. This person will make a significant contribution to the business’ plan to realising its strategic vision as it moves into an ambitious stage of growth.
The company has a substantial share of the local market and has established relationships with top contactors. Services include the design of scaffold solutions heavy duty propping and integrated solutions. Projects are both new build and refurb and include historic structures, heavy civil engineering, rail and buildings. Sites are typically across the South West, South and Midlands.
The Person:
We are looking for someone motivated and knowledgeable, someone who is comfortable with the following:
- Proposing process improvements
- High level negotiations
- Running contracts and providing contractual advice
This person will be advising and educating the business, helping it steer a course on it’s strategic plans. They will be reporting to the managing director and will need to be able to take a leading role.
This is a senior appointment for the business and as such we need a confident communicator with energy and drive. They will be playing a key role in the businesses ongoing growth which offers significant benefits, both financially and professionally.
This role could also suit an experienced construction project manager. In terms of background, either build or civil engineering would be suitable with a slight preference towards civils.
Responsibilities:
Contract management:
- Review and evaluate contract documents, specifications and project requirements.
- Develop and manager project schedules, budgets and resources.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and industry standards.
- Identify potential risks and implement effective risk management strategies.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and motivate project teams, including site teams and subcontractors.
- Provide guidance, support and direction to project managers and supervisors.
- Foster a culture of safety and excellence within the team.
Client relations:
- Maintain a strong client relationships and act as the main point of contact for clients during project execution.
- Address client concerns and resolve issues to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Identify opportunities for additional services or future projects with clients.
Quality Assurance and safety:
- Implement and enforce safety protocols, ensuring a safe working environment for all team members.
- Monitor project quality and ensure that site systems meet regulatory and industry standards.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections.
Cost Management:
- Monitor project budgets and expenses to ensure cost-effective project delivery.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost control measures.
- Prepare and submit project financial reports.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including progress reports, change orders and project records.
- Provide regular updates and reports to senior management and clients.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field
- Proven experience in contract management or construction management, including project planning and execution.
- In-depth knowledge of scaffolding systems, safety regulations and industry best practices.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Valid driver’s license

The salary for this role would be between £75,000 and £85,000 + package.
