Principal/Associate Engineer
Flood Risk and Drainage – Exeter
We currently have a fantastic opportunity to join an award-winning independent Civil Engineering consultancy in Exeter, leading and delivering a number of multi-discipline projects, working within the Flood Risk and Drainage team.
The consultancy have grown to over 40 strong in the last few years and are working on a wide range of local projects, working on a broad range of sectors including Residential. Mixed-Use, Education and more. You would have gained considerable experience working within a similar role and discipline ideally in a consultancy environment
The role:
You would be working on a mixture of drainage strategy and design, working collaboratively with the wider infrastructure teams, whilst also working alongside clients, and other co-professionals. Working on the full life-cycle of the Flood Risk Assessment processes/projects.
You would be taking on a project management role whilst working on co-ordination and delegating tasks to the remainder of the team. You would also be in charge of managing budgets, finances, managing client expectations and delivery.
This role would benefit someone who has a good working knowledge of AutoCAD, MicroDrainage/Causeway Flow and other relevant 3D software.
You would be working on a wide variety of schemes across the South West, including:
- Mixed-use urban extensions
- New-build retirement accommodation
- Renewable Energy and battery storage works
- Affordable housing

This role would require enough experience and intel in order to lead the Flood Risk and Drainage input, joining at Principal or Associate, working closely with the Transport Planning and Infrastructure teams in house.
You would be responsible for financial performance of assigned projects including fee proposals, invoicing etc whilst maintaining best practise.
They also have ICE training schemes to help work towards professional accreditations and internal progression.
