A well-established architectural practice in Bristol is seeking an experienced Part 2 Architectural Assistant or recently qualified Architect to join the team on a full time maternity cover contract, with the possibility of this being a permanent offer.

The role offers the opportunity to work within a supportive studio environment on a varied portfolio of projects, primarily within the residential, education and heritage sectors.

This position would suit a confident and capable individual with strong design and technical skills, able to take ownership of defined project packages while contributing positively to wider project teams. The role provides exposure across all RIBA stages, from early design through to construction, working closely with senior staff, consultants and clients.

Responsibilities:
  • Supporting the project lead across all RIBA work stages, from early feasibility and concept design through to technical delivery
  • Contributing to design development, reviews, client presentations and project meetings
  • Preparing and coordinating design and technical information
  • Liaising with clients, consultants, contractors and statutory authorities
  • Assisting with tender and construction stage delivery
  • Supporting site inspections and responding to technical or contractor queries where required
  • Ensuring work is delivered to agreed quality standards and programme requirements
 Requirements:
  • RIBA Part 2 qualified (or equivalent), or recently qualified Part 3
  • Around 2–3 years’ post Part 2 experience within a UK architectural practice, or 1 year post Part 3
  • Experience working on residential, education and/or heritage projects preferred
  • Strong design and technical ability with good attention to detail
  • Confident working across multiple RIBA stages
  • Good understanding of UK planning policy and Building Regulations
  • Ability to manage time effectively and work across multiple projects
  • Clear communication skills and a collaborative, proactive approach
  • Proficient in AutoCAD
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite
  • Working knowledge of SketchUp or similar visualisation tools
