Are you a skilled Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor looking to take ownership of your work and make a tangible impact on high-profile construction projects? Our client — a leading name in the construction industry — is looking to strengthen their commercial team with an experienced Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor who thrives in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.
Your Mission
As Quantity Surveyor, you’ll play a key role in the procurement, commercial management, and delivery of major projects from inception through to final account. You’ll ensure that value, compliance, and performance are achieved across all work packages — while maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, and the wider supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Commercial Management:
- Manage the timely procurement of subcontractors and suppliers.
- Ensure full compliance and competency checks are completed before tender enquiries are issued.
- Prepare tender documentation, Bills of Quantities, and detailed work package scopes.
- Lead commercial negotiations and agree subcontract terms and conditions.
- Analyse and reconcile tender returns, preparing clear recommendations.
- Issue robust subcontract documentation and maintain commercial oversight throughout the project.
- Identify, evaluate, and mitigate project risks while driving commercial performance.
- Produce monthly and quarterly cost reports, margin projections, and cashflow forecasts.
- Prepare monthly valuations and negotiate with client representatives.
- Measure, value, and agree client variations and final accounts.
- Maintain professional relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners.
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor or large construction environment.
- Strong understanding of commercial management, subcontract procurement, and cost reporting.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
- A proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving.
- Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Project experience within healthcare desirable.
