A respected building services consultancy near Romsey is seeking a Senior to Principal Electrical Design Engineer to join their expert team. With a rich heritage dating back to 2004 and over £450 m in M&E project delivery, the business is trusted for innovative, sustainable, and technically complex solutions across sectors such as healthcare, infrastructure, data centres, historic buildings, laboratories, and industrial facilities

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of high-value, multidisciplinary M&E projects through all design stages—from feasibility to commissioning
• Design and oversee complex electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarms, data, security, and integrated smart building solutions
• Lead and mentor electrical engineers; manage review processes to ensure design accuracy and quality
• Advise on sustainable and low-carbon design strategies, energy modelling, and renewables integration
• Maintain technical excellence and compliance with BS 7671, CIBSE standards, UK regulations, and project specifications
• Coordinate closely with civil, structural, mechanical, and environmental specialists to ensure seamless project integration
• Engage directly with clients and stakeholders, nurturing relationships and supporting business development

🎓 What You’ll Bring

• BEng/MEng (or equivalent) in Electrical or Building Services Engineering
• Chartered (CEng) status or actively progressing toward it
• 7+ years’ experience in electrical design consultancy, ideally across power, lighting, and building systems
• Strong expertise in electrical calculations, load analysis, single-line diagrams, and BIM (AutoCAD/Revit)
• Proven leadership ability—technical mentoring, project ownership, and client engagement
• Passion for sustainable design, energy efficiency, and integrated building service delivery
