Layout Designer / Architect, West Midlands, up to £60k DOE

Opportunity for a Layout Designer to join a leading multi-disciplinary consultancy working in Architecture, Structures and Civil engineering.

Specialising in residential architecture and working with all the leading national housing developers,  the consultancy is ideally looking for an experienced Layout designer to join their medium size team of offering hybrid working and a competitive salary along with the opportunity to be running the Architectural team and progress within the company.

Responsibilities:

• Layout designs for potential new land acquisitions including the assessment of site masterplans, design and access statements and codes
• Production of all necessary planning drawings and reports required for planning applications
• Liaising with other consultants such as Landscape, Urban Designers, Architects, Technician etc
• Attend meetings with the design and planning teams
• Presentation drawings for planning, internal reviews and meetings
• Pre applications drawings / documents

• Experience working within a commercial housebuilder or in consultancy / private practice
• Good knowledge of master planning, architecture and urban design
• Producing hand drawn and written information to support full and reserved matters planning applications
• Motivated and have a proactive approach with a keen eye for details
• Knowledge of planning system and able to adapt to local authority design guidance
• Hold a relevant degree within Architecture, planning, urban design
• Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp and Photoshop
